Keep an eye out for the City of Delaware’s newest street sweeper coming to your neighborhood soon.

Neighborhood street sweeping began on Monday, April 17 and will require about eight weeks to complete.

Public Works Department crews will post signs at key neighborhood entrances to alert motorists and residents of the sweeping activity. Please move cars off the street between the hours of 7am-3pm on those days to allow the sweeper to work curb to curb. The sweeping will only occur on weekdays.

Sweepers cannot pick up leaves, brush, branches, or yard waste. Please dispose of that waste as you normally would.

The street sweeping program is focused on keeping debris and pollution out of storm sewers and from entering our waterways, as well as street aesthetics. Street sweeping is a pollution prevention practice and helps to improve water quality in our local watersheds, including in the Delaware Run and Olentangy River.

Have a street sweeping question? Email [email protected] or phone 740-203-1810.
